Chastity Education Initiative

Every young person is vital and unique in the eyes of God. Unfortunately, popular culture leads many astray, pushing our youth toward immoral behaviors that harm them in body and spirit. The Chastity Education Initiative ministry seeks to transform the culture with the beautiful, faith filled message of purity, empowering our youth to make good choices for their lives. Our generous donors help us provide:

  • Dynamic Speakers

  • Theology of the Body curricula

  • Retreats

  • Rallies

  • Chastity Education Materials

“Blessed are the pure of heart, for they shall see God.” Matthew 5:8

In April 2021, the Respect Life Office hosted an event called, “An Evening Celebrating the Life of Francis Cardinal George, OMI,” that commemorated the fifth death anniversary of our beloved Francis Cardinal George, OMI, whose holy life and thoughtful leadership left an indelible mark on our Archdiocese, our Church, and our world, as well as the lives of countless individuals. One of Cardinal George’s great legacies is the Chastity Education Initiative, which was founded in 2003 at his request and under his personal direction. Since then, this dynamic ministry has touched the lives of more than 170,000 teens and young adults in Catholic schools, parishes, religious education programs, youth ministry groups, universities, and campus ministry centers in Cook, Lake, DuPage, Will, Kendall, and Winnebago counties and beyond.

During the evening of celebrating the life of Francis Cardinal George, OMI,” which took place at the Davis Theater in Lincoln Square, featured a screening of the acclaimed documentary on Cardinal George’s life, “Glorious Lives,” and a panel discussion with Cardinal George’s personal secretary Fr. Dan Flens and others who were blessed to work closely with him.

It was a blessed fundraising event for such an important and special ministry that is close to Cardinal George’s heart in the Chastity Education Initiative.
