“I was in jail and you visited me.”
This Gospel mandate compels all followers of Jesus to serve those who are incarcerated. While volunteer opportunities are unique during this time of pandemic, the need is as great as ever for individuals and parishes to join in the mission of Kolbe House. We would love to explore how your gifts, time and interest can best serve our needs. Connect with us today by filling out a volunteer application. Our current needs include:
Jail Ministry
Jail visit ministry has been suspended for most of the past year, but we anticipate a move toward welcoming volunteers back into Cook County jail soon. When that time comes, we will be in need of volunteers to walk a journey of faith with men and women in jail. We would love to connect with you now so that we can be ready when the doors are opened.
Re-Entry Ministry
We are seeking volunteers who can commit to a weekly schedule of at least one half-day per week to serve men and women coming out of jail or prison. This work may involve a combination of on-site and remote ministry in accordance with the current state, local and Archdiocesan guidelines.
