The mission of the Office of Human Dignity and Solidarity is to form and accompany the people of the Archdiocese of Chicago to respond to the Gospel call, to recognize the dignity of all life and be in solidarity with our sisters and brothers on the margins. By doing this, we transform the lives of others through service as Christ's missionary disciples.
Key components of the Office of Human Dignity and Solidarity are:
- Forming and accompanying the people of the Archdiocese of Chicago
- Responding to the Gospel call
- Recognizing the dignity of all life
- Being in solidarity with our sisters and brothers on the margins
What We Do
The Office of Human Dignity and Solidarity fulfills its mission through forms of ministry that accompany, empower and advocate for people in all stages of life, from conception to natural death. The Office also coordinates service opportunities, prayer and worship, formation and leadership development and justice actions.
Our ministries include:
Life & Justice Conference
The Life & Justice Conference, hosted by the Department of Parish Vitality and Mission, will unite the people of the Archdiocese of Chicago who respond to the Gospel call and recognize the dignity of all life as Christ’s missionary disciples. This conference will celebrate the Respect Life, Peace and Justice, Human Concerns, Catholic Relief Services, and Catholic Campaign for Human Development ministries, providing attendees with an educational and spiritual experience directly related to their ministries in addition to the opportunity to collaborate; enabling each ministry to have a farther reach and greater impact across the Archdiocese of Chicago and beyond.
