Request Support
The Global Mission Office is deeply committed to supporting as many Catholic missionary dioceses, congregations, organizations, and groups as possible. In general, we consider requests for two types of mission support:
- Mass stipends to support diocesan and religious ministry
- Liturgical supplies for visiting missionaries
The office can accept requests for Mass stipends during the months of May – August in person, by email or regular mail. Request documentation is reviewed, and decisions communicated before the end of the calendar year. Requests for liturgical supplies may only be made in person.
Only complete and properly documented requests for support will be considered. Send request documentation between the months May and August by email to [email protected] or regular mail at Global Mission Office 3525 S. Lake Park Ave. Chicago, IL 60653 (postdated no later than August 31).
There are eligibility requirements for requesting Mass stipends to support diocesan or religious priests in mission dioceses, provinces or territories. The Mass stipend request:
- Must support ministers serving in mission territories of high need outside of the United States
- May only be requested for dioceses, religious congregations or provincials or Roman Catholic Institutions (such as a seminary)
- Must be offered to multiple priests able and willing to celebrate Mass on behalf of the donors’ intentions
- May only be accepted and offered once per ministry, per year
A complete request for Mass stipends must include the following documentation:
- A letter from the requesting priest or bishop/religious superior that
-
Indicates the specific country, diocese or congregation/province in which the receiving priest(s) lives and serves
-
Indicates the number of priests for whom the stipends are requested
-
Shares email contact information of the requesting priest or bishop
-
-
If the request comes from a priest it must also include an original letter from the appropriate bishop or religious superior acknowledging and supporting the request, as well as a letter or statement of certification attesting to the requestor’s good standing. See the standard Statement of Certification form.
-
A Payment Information Form that identifies a U.S.-based contact who can receive a donation check on behalf of the requestor (highly preferred) or if no U.S. contact is available, bank transfer information.

The Global Mission Office typically stores a variety of liturgical supplies to help celebrate and administer the Holy Eucharist, such as chalices, Mass kits, vestments and pyxes. These items have been donated, both new and gently used. There is a limited supply of these items.
Liturgical supplies are only disbursed in person. The Global Mission Office does not ship liturgical supplies domestically or internationally.
