Priests’ Convocation
Weekday Masses June 17 – 20, 2024
Priests serving in the Archdiocese of Chicago will gather for their biennial convocation from June 17 through June 20. This gathering is an important and necessary time of spiritual renewal for the priests, so that they can better serve the People of God.
The priests have been asked to clear their schedules, so that they can fully participate in this experience. Consequently, during those four days, there might not be weekday Masses celebrated in some parishes. However, there will be prayer services to be determined by each parish. In cases of emergency, parishioners can contact parish staff who will make whatever referral is appropriate.
The people of the Archdiocese can support their priests in several ways. Their patient understanding of scheduling changes is very important. Even more important is the prayerful support they extend to priests who have prayed for them and with them. Please use the prayer found at the end of this announcement as a personal prayer or a family prayer.
As the priests gather for their convocation know that they bring you and your families in their hearts to this important time of prayer and reflection.
LORD JESUS CHRIST,
eternal High Priest, you offered yourself to the Father on the altar of the Cross and through the outpouring of the Holy Spirit
gave your priestly people a share in your redeeming sacrifice.
Hear our prayer for all the priests of this Archdiocese of Chicago,
especially as they gather in convocation.
Grant that all who are ordained to the ministerial priesthood may be ever more conformed to you,
the divine Master, the Good Shepherd.
May they preach the Gospel with pure heart and clear conscience. Let them be shepherds according to your own Heart, single-minded in service to you and to the Church
and shining examples of a holy, simple and joyful life.
Through the prayers of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
draw all priests and the flocks entrusted to their care
to the fullness of eternal life
where you live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever.

Todos los sacerdotes que sirven en la Arquidiócesis de Chicago se reunirán en su convocatoria bienal del 17 al 20 de junio. Este encuentro es muy importante para el beneficio espiritual de los sacerdotes, pues es necesario que tomen un tiempo para renovar su espiritualidad y así servir mejor al pueblo de Dios.
Se les ha pedido a los sacerdotes mantener sus agendas libres en estas fechas, para que puedan plenamente ser parte de esta experiencia. Y por consecuencia, durante esos cuatro días, puede que no haya celebraciones de misas entre semana en algunas parroquias. Sin embargo, habrá servicios de oración, que serán determinados por cada parroquia. En caso de emergencia, los feligreses podrán ponerse en contacto con el personal de la oficina de la parroquia los cuales le darán la ayuda apropiada.
Los feligreses de la Arquidiócesis podrán apoyar a sus sacerdotes de varias formas. Su comprensión y paciencia serán muy importantes en el desarrollo de todos estos cambios. Pero es más importante aún su apoyo con sus oraciones hacia los sacerdotes que han orado por ellos y con ellos. Por favor utilice la oración que encontrará al final de este anuncio y utilícela al hacer sus oraciones personales o sus oraciones en familia.
Sepa también que los sacerdotes de la Arquidiócesis, al reunirse para esta convocatoria, lo mantienen a usted y a su familia en sus oraciones y en sus corazones durante este tiempo de reflexión.

W dniach od 17 do 20 czerwca księża posługujący w Archidiecezji Chicago zgromadzą się na swoim spotkaniu organizowanym co dwa lata. Jest to ważny i konieczny czas ich odnowy duchowej potrzebnej, by lepiej służyć wiernym.
Księża zostali poproszeni o zarezerwowanie czasu w swoich kalendarzach, aby w pełni mogli uczestniczyć w tym doświadczeniu.
