Lifelong Formation

About Us

The mission of the Office of Lifelong Formation is to support, accompany and equip our parish and Catholic school lay leadership and their ministries to empower all members of the Church with a lifelong process that inspires and deepens faith and relationships with Christ.

The Office of Lifelong formation seeks to fulfill a vital part of the overall vision and mission of the Renew My Church initiative as the go-to resource for lifelong opportunities to ultimately nurture missionary discipleship, build bonds among the faithful and continually develop vital ministries in an environment that values professional excellence and is Christ-centered.

What We Do

The Office of Lifelong Formation organizes and executes many of highly sought resources of the Church, including those previously belonging to Marriage and Family Ministries, Catechesis and Youth Ministry and Young Adult Ministry teams. All of the services sought through these teams are now the charge of the Office of Lifelong Formation group and fully accessible to the community in a more streamlined and cohesive manner.

The team collaborates with all Department of Parish Vitality and Mission offices to coordinate a range of functions and ministries, and it hosts events throughout the Archdiocese. In its role, the Office of Lifelong Formation assists catechetical and parish leaders in faith formation, supports catechists and school teachers in formation and certification and creates resources for faith formation in parishes and communities. It also assists in ministry toward youth and young adults and provides resources around ministry for marriage preparation and family ministry. We also serve as a system of support for Vicariates and as a key resource and provide procedure, guidelines and policies across all stages of faith and formation for local parishes.
