If your parish or school attended Holy Fire 2018, it would be greatly appreciated if you could fill out the survey below to let us know what you loved, what you liked, and what can be improved about the Holy Fire experience by Friday, November 16. Your feedback is greatly appreciated!
Both our Archdiocesan staff along with the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry have received requests from local communities throughout the country to organize a middle school-aged event to promote continuous encounters with Christ. In October 2016, the Archdiocese of Chicago hosted the first annual Holy Fire, which was designed around the baptismal call to witnessing our faith and an opportunity for our young Church to reflect more deeply on the gifts of the Holy Spirit they will receive in the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Why is Holy Fire Great?
Holy Fire hosts sixth to ninth grade students from parish Religious Education programs and Catholic Schools together with their teachers, catechists, youth ministers, chaperones and pastors. As community youth comes together, they are challenged to participate in activities centered around prayer, witness and joy that perpetuate the concept of becoming missionary disciples who are not afraid to witness the faith. Ultimately, Holy Fire helps young people to see themselves as witnesses of Christ and members of a young Church.
We hope you join us for Holy Fire 2018, as the next time the Archdiocese of Chicago will host Holy Fire will be in Fall 2020!
