Fr. James Martin, SJ, interview on the movie Silence

January 18, 2017 – We had a chance to interview Fr. James Martin, SJ, for today’s radio show, “Mission of Love.” Fr. Martin was one of the spiritual and Jesuit advisors for the script and assisted Martin Scorsese and the actors in understanding Jesuit spirituality for the film Silence that is in theaters now. The movie, which depicts 17th century Jesuit missionaries in Japan, is a challenging film on faith that leaves viewers with many deeply thought-provoking questions. We discuss some of these issues with Fr. Martin. Click here to listen to our conversation about the film.

Nightfever Brings People Together and Reaches Those Who May Need Christ

December 3, 2016 – Nightfever began in Germany after the 2005 World Youth Day celebration. In 2014, it came to Chicago and has become a regular staple at Holy Name Cathedral. Many young Catholics gather for mass, prayer, confession, but most especially, to invite passersby into the church to pray. This simple way to encourage connection and engagement is a great way to evangelize here in our city.
