ALPHA Online

Several parish communities from throughout the Archdiocese of Chicago are joining together to offer Alpha Online to anyone who is interested in exploring questions of faith in a safe, friendly, judgement free space through Zoom. The archdiocese is serving as the host and providing technical support.

We invite you or anyone you think could use a way to connect during these uncertain times to join us. All are welcome, no matter their level of faith. There is no commitment, no cost. Come for the first night and then decide if you want to come back. We will be here for 11 weeks.

There are two options - Tuesday nights starting Easter Tuesday, April 14th at 7 p.m. and Wednesday mornings starting Easter Wednesday, April 15th at 10 a.m. Each session will include a gathering time, a short film, and then a small group discussion. Some topics include: Who Is Jesus?, How Can I Have Faith?, What Does the Holy Spirit Do?, and Why and How Do I Pray?

To sign-up for Alpha Online visit here. A link will be sent to you prior to each session to ensure security. And please pray for this Alpha series and all who join together to explore faith.

Bring Hope to Our Neighbors

Many people are looking for ways to connect, something to do to help others during this time. We have put together something simple for your parishioners to do to celebrate Pentecost this year.

As the Stay-at-Home order lifts here in Illinois on May 30th, the day before Pentecost, we invite you to encourage your parishioners to celebrate this great Feast the way Jesus sent the disciples outward. We have put together some tools to encourage your parishioners to go into their neighborhoods to share Christ’s hope with their neighbors.

It is simple. On Pentecost Sunday or the week that follows, invite your parishioners to drop a personalized note at their neighbors’ doors – start small, just ten each. The note offers encouragement, information about offerings from our Catholic Church, it can be personalized to include your parish information, and it leaves behind a prayer.

  1. Invite your parishioners to participate in this project (English | Spanish | Polish)
We have language for a letter or email to send to parishioners.
  2. Provide parishioners with a simple leave behind – we have three options for you
You can personalize each piece with your parish name and any local resources you offer. You can either print them out and distribute or simply send it electronically and invite them to print out their copies from their home printer. Whatever works best for your community!
    English 1 | English 2 | English 3
    Spanish 1 | Spanish 2 | Spanish 3
    Polish 1 | Polish 2 | Polish 3
  3. Complete this form to let us know you are participating and/or to request information.

Materials will be available in Spanish and Polish soon. If you have any questions, please contact [email protected].
